This morning I woke to find out that there had been a couple of earthquakes in the middle of the night...yup, in Texas. Believe it. Or not. It's not like it's never happened before, it's just that I've never heard of one here. Plus, the epicenters of the two that are being talked about most are within a couple of miles of my home. I guess like thunderstorms though, I just slept right on through them.
Tonight as I was driving home from shopping with my kids, I had to drive over a bridge that is quite high in the air, the kind that is part of a mixmaster of highway intersections. Knowing that there were earthquakes here this morning, had me re-thinking the decision to be on a bridge that high. I managed not to panic and made it off the bridge and home safely.
How big were these quakes, you may ask? The biggest was a 3.1 on the Richter scale. Yeah yeah, I can hear you California people laughing at me...
Anyone there?

I think an earthquake would freak me out alittle. Glad you were ok though.
God Bless
We live in Dallas. I've never felt an earthquake before and really never want to! I wouldn't have gotten on that bridge either!LOL
You know, in all the earthquakes we've been through in California, I've never ONCE thought about it being dangerous to cross any of the bridges in my area.
Maybe I should, lol!
I'm like Becky - growing up in earthquakeland I never think much about that sort of thing. We had a small earthquake when I lived in Arkansas once and it was kind of surreal to me - like it wasn't supposed to happen there. lol
We had an earthquake in Atlanta one time and it was way weird! It was the talk of the week.
Hi Suzanne- I saw you popped in at my site so I decided to "follow you home". Boy o Boy was I surprised to find my blog on your "blogs I read" list.
I'm HONORED. Thanks so much for including me.
Sorry to hear about the earth quakes... have to tell you that I too would be a bit uncomfortable on bridges that high. :-)
Feel free to join in on the Love Dare if you have the time. We would love to hear from you.
Heck, our Alaskan Way viaduct still hasn't been fixed since the 6.8 earthquake 8 years ago. Cracks, shmacks. I wasn't living here yet, but my hubby was working here and forced his 6'4" frame underneath his desk. Glad all is well with you, though.
